Australia’s beautiful coastline comprises the coasts of mainland Australia and Tasmania, and stretches out 57,736 kilometers in total. Along its magnificent coastline are in excess of 10,000 beaches, many of delicious beauty. Sail through the Whitsundays, marvel at a sea of red crabs on Christmas Island or embark on a coastal drive to find your place to surf. Let’s take a closer look at what this amazing country has to offer.
The Northern Australian Coast
This part of Australia is renowned for its natural beauty and wildlife. Hard to reach but it is a popular place for 4WD and camping enthusiasts. And rightly so. If you are fascinated by the idea of a hike that takes effort to find, or swooping on to a remote strip of sand on a helicopter, then the secret beaches of Australia’s wild, warm-the-year- around Northern Territory waits for you.
The Southern Coast of Australia
Facing Tasmania, the South Point on Wattle Island can be found at the tip of Wilson’s Promontory, in the state of Victoria, and is the southern-most point of the Australian mainland. Within a national park and marine reserve, Wilsons Promontory is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Australia, and offers a wide range of walking trails and nice views.
The actual southern-most point of Australia, going off mainland, is South East Cape, in Tasmania. This is a rocky coastline in the south. Although beautiful, the weather remains rough.
The Eastern Coast
Australia’s probably most traveled part has so many beautiful places and beaches. Fraser Island is the place where you can find wild dingoes, breaching whales and beaches, all in one place. If you have some days there, you should trek the Fraser Island Great Walk, where you will reconnect with nature along the nice coastal path.
The Whitsunday Islands, is within the state of Queensland and its Great Barrier Reef. It has some of the Australia’s most beautiful nature. There are as many as 74 islands in the Whitsundays. The waters are azure blue and the sand white as ivory.
The Aussie West Coast
Here you will find top attractions like Murujuga National Park, Turquoise Bay and Mornington Wilderness Camp to name a few.
The West has almost everything, from cliff overhang to a huge outback moonscape, nice turtle-safari and a stunning infinity pool in the remote outback, there are so many things to do. There is also plenty of opportunity to go kitesurfing, windsurfing, and surfing in coast of Western Australia.
Summary
So here you have it. Australia offers amazing sights, beaches, tracks and more. In Australia you can get close to native plants and wild animals as well, and experience the spectacular beauty on land, air and sea.
And, if that was not enough, the Australian beer is good and the Aussies are welcoming and laid back.
